Poplar is located between Mile End, Bow and Canary Wharf. The area has seen a large amount of regeneration over the past 10 years, but has retained it’s East London appeal. With great transport links and easy access to Canary Wharf, Poplar also has a great range of local pubs, cafes and shops, including supermarkets, Poplar Union (an arts and community centre), Star of the East pub, and it’s central marketplace, Chrisp Street Market, which will soon undergo redevelopment works boasting a new cinema, popular high street shops and restaurants. Poplar is also surrounded by beautiful parks and outdoor space such as Mile End Park, the newly developed Bartlett Park with a children’s playground, Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park and Victoria Park, which is just a 15 minute cycle ride away.
The mooring site comprises a 180 metre piled pontoon running parallel to the north wall of the Limehouse Cut canal. There is provision for the residential mooring of up to 10 boats. Cycle and pedestrian access to the pontoon from the north is via Invicta Close, a quiet residential cull-de-sac, and from the west via Bow Common Lane.
